About this place

Hastagiri Ranganatha Temple stands behind the Kodandarama Temple on the Tungabhadra riverside route. Built in the sixteenth century, it uses the natural rocky hill as the rear wall of its sanctum and is approached by a short flight of steps. A small pillared mandapa leads to the closed sanctum, while the elevated site links the river path with the northern end of Courtesans' Street.
